JUICE YOUR WAY TO BETTER HEALTH!
Juicing is an excellent way to get a ton of natural sources of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other phytochemicals you need to feel great and prevent disease. I use juicing as my major form of vitamin / mineral supplementation to my diet. For access to my juicing recipes, just check out the Programs & Membership Page where the Make Your Diet a Supplement, Any of the Muscle Release Yoga Programs & the 1 year Memberships all include access.

HOW TO JUICE; BASIC CARROT APPLE GINGER

BASIC JUICING GUIDELINES:
1.) Use organic produce. You dont want to be drinking concentrated pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals, like waxes… And I know what you’re thinking- “I cant afford to buy organic.” However certain vegetables like carrots are usually around $1 a pound for organic so i get a 5 pound bag every week or two. Also- hit up your local farmers markets and fresh produce stands- just make sure to ask them if they spray or if their produce is organic.

2.) Juice on an empty stomach at least 1 hour, ideally 2 hours, before or after a meal. You can use about 12-16 oz of juice as a meal replacement but if you are very active and need to still eat meals with your juice just keep it at least an hour away from meals. Juicing on an empty stomach also helps your body absorb nutrients the best.

3.) Dont go crazy on fruits, there is actually a lot of sugar that comes through the juice after you remove all the fiber. The ratio of vegetables to fruit will vary according to the individual but generally i would say 3:1 USA good place to start. Let me know if you have any more questions or need help getting on a juicing routine!

WHEATGRASS JUICE
Wheatgrass is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is actually just young wheat that is just a few days old after first sprouting so it is very nutritionally dense. It is much healthier than mature wheat products like bread that leave you bloated and is often soaked in roundup anyway making it more toxic. You can find wheatgrass at most health food stores or Whole Foods and chances are the supplier is not using any chemicals on their product but you can always look for the organic label or ask the supplier. You will need a specific masticating juicer or “manual crank” juicer like the one pictured below.
